The Hospitality Company

Equal Pay & Gender Pay Gap Policy

1. Purpose & Commitment

The Hospitality Company is committed to the principle of equal pay for all our staff, regardless of gender, and to eliminating any gender pay gap within our organisation. We believe that everyone who works for us — whether on a temporary, permanent or casual basis — should be rewarded fairly and consistently for the work they do.

This policy sets out our commitment to equal pay and explains the steps we take to ensure pay decisions are free from bias and based solely on objective, job-related criteria.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals engaged by The Hospitality Company, including permanent employees, temporary workers, agency staff and contractors, across every role and at every level of the business.

3. Our Principles

  • Equal pay is given for the same or broadly similar work, for work rated as equivalent, and for work of equal value.
  • Pay rates for every role are published transparently on our rate card and applied consistently to all staff in that role.
  • Pay, progression and bonus decisions are based on skill, experience, responsibility and performance — never on gender.
  • Our AI-assisted payroll captures worked hours automatically and applies the agreed role rate to every shift, removing the opportunity for inconsistent or subjective pay decisions.

4. How We Prevent a Gender Pay Gap

  • Standardised, role-based hourly rates that are identical for men and women doing the same job.
  • Transparent recruitment and shift-allocation processes that match staff to work by availability, skill and location.
  • Equal access to training, development and progression through our Training Academy.
  • Regular monitoring of pay data to identify and address any disparities.

5. Monitoring & Reporting

We review our pay data at least annually to confirm that men and women are paid equally for equivalent work and to identify any gap, its causes and the action required to close it. Where the business meets the statutory threshold, we will publish gender pay gap figures in line with UK reporting requirements.

6. Raising a Concern

Any member of staff who believes they have not received equal pay, or who has concerns about pay practices, can raise the matter in confidence with their consultant or by emailing hello@thehospitalitycompany.co.uk. All concerns are taken seriously, investigated promptly and handled without fear of detriment.

7. Responsibility

Overall responsibility for this policy rests with the Founder & CEO. All managers and consultants are responsible for applying it fairly and consistently in their day-to-day decisions.
